What to expect

What Happens When I Arrive?

New Covid-19 measures

The health and safety of myself and my clients is paramount and the re-opening following the lifting of Covid-19 restrictions will see a few changes.

  • Additional antibacterial cleaning will take place before and after each clients visit including door handles, banisters etc with the Massage room aired thoroughly between clients.

  • Your temperature will be taken upon arrival using an Infra-red thermometer, if you have a temperature I will be unable to continue with any therapy, if you've been exposed to Covid-19 or felt unwell in the last 2 weeks please postpone your visit.

  • Hand Sanitiser will be available upon arrival and should be used before touching anything.

  • Wear a face mask if possible , it's not mandatory but anything that helps to reduce risk is appreciated, and bring minimal personal belongings.

  • Where possible, the consultation and GDPR forms will be emailed out to complete electronically prior to the appointment.

You'll be welcomed into my home and put at ease, a lot of people are very nervous what to expect on a 1st visit, but there really is no need to be.

Unless you've completed the consultationand GDPR forms electronically, you'll  be asked to them. There are some medical conditions (known as contra-indications to massage ) where I'm unable to proceed without your GP approval and the consultation is for both our benefit.

If you do have any medical complaints, please contact me using the form on the home page prior to making a booking to check that I'll be able to provide massage treatment.

Based upon the consultation we'll agree upon a massage treatment.

The Massage

I'll show you to the massage room and a dressing room for you to get undressed.

Once on the table, I'll cover the body parts not being massaged and we'll get underway.

Massage will  be performed using either a blend of Sweet Almond oil with Jojoba, or Grape seed with Jojoba, both of these blends are excellent for moisturising the skin, helping with eczema and psoriasis and relieving inflammation.

I play Spa and Massage music in the background to help you relax into the massage, but you can also connect your phone to the speaker via blue-tooth if required to play your favourite music.

After The Massage

Initially you should feel relaxed, however there can be some adverse reactions to massage treatments known as Contra-actions. You may experience any or a combination of the following:

  • Tiredness due to release of toxins

  • Headache or nausea

  • Increased urination

  • Increase in bowel movements

  • Spots
